The initiative is being led by Mehedi Hasan, Aviation Research and Development Officer of Born to Fly Aerospace Training Organization, who is currently the only professional in Bangladesh working extensively and full-time in this project in such a specialized R&D leadership role. Under his direction, the project is progressing rapidly toward real-world implementation.
Mehedi Hasan stated that the drone has been specifically designed for large-scale agricultural operations, enabling fast, precise, and uniform application of fertilizers and pesticides. Compared to conventional farming methods, this advanced technology significantly reduces labor and time while ensuring optimal nutrient delivery and crop protection, ultimately increasing overall agricultural productivity.
Beyond agriculture, the drone is also envisioned as a life-saving medical courier system. In remote and hard-to-reach areas where transportation infrastructure is extremely limited, the drone will be capable of delivering emergency blood supplies, anti-venom, and other critical life-saving medicines in a very short time. Avoiding road congestion and geographical barriers, rapid delivery of primary medical supplies remains one of the project’s core objectives.
Equipped with advanced sensor systems and automated flight control technology, the drone is designed to operate efficiently even in adverse weather conditions and challenging environments.
Project stakeholders believe that this technological innovation will not only reduce the physical burden on farmers but also play a vital role in decreasing preventable deaths caused by delayed access to medical care.
